I play many roles.  Among other things, I play the role of grandfather, writer, adventurer, risk taker, chef, teacher, student, salesman and friend.  However, if someone asks me who I am, I tell a different story.  I am Peace.  I am Forgiveness.  

Looking back, it seems almost ludicrous that this is who I've become.  I was born with a warrior nature that had to be tamed.  I was quick to anger and slow to cool.   I felt disconnected from life, alone, alienated, angry and depressed …often to the point of contemplating suicide.   Life was anything but peaceful; if anything, it was sheer hell.

Then, one day, I began the journey back to health.  The tools were simple.  I had to learn to practice being patient, humble, accepting and forgiving.  I also had to learn to cultivate an inner awareness; to be present, and to begin thinking in terms of values.  As I did, the invisible walls that separated me from the rest of life began to dissolve, my inner nature began to unfold and my true value began to emerge.   Now I know myself as whole and complete, one with Source and connected to all of life.  I wonder what else the now holds?
